Pencarrow House is an historic Georgian house complete with grade II listed gardens which is owned and lived in by the Molesworth-St. Aubyn family.

Containing a superb collection of pictures, furniture, porcelain and antique dolls, the house has no less than fifty rooms.

In 1771 Sir John Molesworth co-founded the Sir John Molesworth & Company banking house - the forerunner of our modern-day Lloyds Bank.

Sir William Molesworth, a politician first proposed the Wadebridge to Bodmin railway in 1831 (see also The Camel Trail), originally built to convey the lime rich sea sand from the Padstow area of the Camel Estuary to farming communities beyond Wadebridge.

Outside of the house the gardens display a beautifully proportioned sunken Italian Garden as well as a mile long driveway, lined with Rhododendrons and Camellias.
